About Señora Moreno

I'm Señora Moreno, and this is my second year teaching at Portage Northern High School.

Originally from Portage, I graduated from Portage Central High School, where I completed the Spanish program all the way through IB Spanish V. This means that as a student, I went through the same program my students are going through! Later, I attended Western Michigan University and majored in Spanish and Mathematics for secondary education; I'm certified to teach Spanish, grades K-12, and math, grades 6-12.

I spent a semester studying in Burgos, Spain, and have returned to Spain several times, including a trip to teach English to Spanish-speakers. I've also traveled to Costa Rica and Mexico.

I got married this past summer to my husband, who is from Spain, and I love being able to use Spanish in every moment of my daily life!

When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, going for long walks outside, doing arts and crafts, volunteering at my church, and reading.
